Williamsport, PA - The Falcons suffered a 79-70 defeat at the hands of the Lycoming Warriors on Wednesday night. The Falcons controlled much of the early going, but Lycoming's pressure was too much for the Falcons to handle as the Warriors rallied from a six-point deficit to take a seven-point lead into the intermission. Lycoming held the lead for the entirety of the second half, before winning claiming the nine-point victory.
The Warriors forced 24 turnovers in the game that lead to 22 points, while the Falcons scored just 14 points off 17 Warrior turnovers.
Luke Cable came out firing for the Falcons, scoring eight of the Falcons first 13 points in the game. The sophomore hit his first two attempts from beyond the arc and was 3-5 shooting in the first seven and a half minutes as the Falcons claimed a two-point advantage.
After the quick start for the Falcons, the Warriors would take control. Lycoming lead for the final twenty-eight minutes of the game building their lead to as large as seven in the first-half, a margin that they would hold at half time.
In the second-half, the Falcons tried to claw their way back into the game but the Warriors kept pulling away. With
Zac Hoy in foul trouble in the second-half, Lycoming built their lead to double-digits at the 10-minute mark. The Falcons hung around though, making it a four-point game with just under six minutes to play.
In the end the Warrior's hit their free throws to put the game out of reach – Lycoming was 20-24 from the line in the game – as the Falcons fell 79-70
In the loss,
Geoff Boyle (12 points, 13 rebounds) collected his third double-double of the season and
David Fernandez-Bravo led all scorers with 15 points.
The loss is the Falcons' second in two conference contests this year and they fall to 4-2 overall. The win moves Lycoming to 4-3 overall and 2-0 in the Commonwealth.
