Reading, PA - The Falcons were looking to capitalize on the momentum gained from their mid-week, come-from-behind overtime victory over Stevenson, when they traveled to Albright Saturday afternoon. The Falcons did just that, claiming their second-straight conference win with the 77-67 victory.
Â
The Falcons were led by the play of their two seniors,
Zac Hoy and
David Fernandez-Bravo, in the victory. Hoy scored 18 points, marking the seventh-straight game that he has collected ten-plus points. While Fernandez-Bravo lead all scorers with 24 points – tying his season high (
12/6 vs. Widener) – while also collecting 10 rebounds for his second double-double of the season (
12/13 vs. Bible Baptist).
Â
The Lions controlled the first portion of the game, leveraging a 21-7 run to jump out to a 23-12 lead 8:18 into the game. But on the next possession
Josh Clippinger drove from the top of the key and finished a one-handed slam that put an end to the Lions' run and started a 24-13 run for the Falcons. Fernandez-Bravo highlighted the Falcons' run with two three-pointers and 10 total points.
Â
At the end of the half, the Falcons and Lions were tied up at 40-40.
Â
After the half, the Falcons held a lead for the entirety of the second-period, with the lone exception coming with 6:37 left in the game after an Albright jumper tied the game at 59-59. While the Falcons held a lead for the majority of the half, the Lions were in striking distance until the end, when free throws extended the lead to a final score of 77-67.
Â
Luke Cable joined the as previously mentioned Hoy and Fernandez-Bravo in double digits with 14 points. Cable was 4-6 from beyond the arc.
Â
