Grantham, PA - The Messiah College men's tennis team picked up their fourth-straight sweep after defeating Hood College 9-0 on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons moved to 6-5 overall and are currently undefeated (4-0) in the MAC Commonwealth.
Messiah dominated in singles play and picked up six solid victories.
Tim Dunn (No. 1 singles) swept his opponent 6-0, 6-0 while
Connor Graybeal (No. 2) was tested but won both sets 6-3, 6-4.
Devin Esch (No. 3) only allowed his opponent to win two total games and picked up a 6-1, 6-1 victory over the Blazers.
Austin Warren (No. 4) was successful 6-1, 6-2 as was
Alex Mantsevich (6-2, 6-0).
Blake Ross (No. 6) suffered only one loss in singles play and came out victorious with a score of 6-1, 6-0.
In doubles action, the Falcons continued to control the matches and stay on top.
Devin Esch and
Austin Warren swept their opponents 8-0,
Tim Dunn and
Connor Graybeal battled and won 8-2, and
Alex Mantsevich and
Blake Ross defeated the Blazers 8-4.
The Falcons are back in action on Apr. 18 when they travel to Lycoming College. The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
