Grantham, PA - The women's tennis team picked up another MAC Commonwealth victory by defeating Albright 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons moved to 3-5 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
Messiah had a great start to the day by going 3-0 in doubles play.
Kelly Hopkins and
Carly Dove didn't give up a game and dominated their opponents 8-0.
Meagan Scala and
Emily Wichert clenched an 8-2 victory against the Lions, while
Amanda Adams and
Robin Schwarzmann won by default.
In singles action, the Falcons had an outstanding performance.
Carly Dove (6-1, 6-0),
Meagan Scala (6-1, 6-0),
Emily Wichert (6-1, 6-1), and
Amanda Adams (6-0, 6-0) easily handled their opponents.
Kelly Hopkins dropped her first set 4-6, but came back in dominating fashion and won 6-2 and 10-3 to complete the sweep for the Falcons.
Messiah will hit the courts on April 4 when they travel to Stevenson University for another MAC Commonwealth match. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30. p.m.
