NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Messiah University Track and Field team traveled to the historic New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory in New York City Friday afternoon. There was a number of personal records set at the meet and six top-five finishes highlighted the afternoon for the Falcons.

Leah Ferster finished the afternoon with two top-five finishes in the throwing events. She threw a personal best of 11.34 meters in the Weight Throw to finish in second place. Her mark of 10.25 meters in the Shot Put earned her a fourth-place finish.
Natalie Hamlen also threw the Shot Put and ended the day with a mark of 7.78 meters.

Hamlen also participated in the 60 Meter Hurdles, finishing in a time of 11.01. Hamlen was joined by
Claire Miller and
Kara Brown. Miller finished the race in a time of 9.95. Brown's time of 9.68 in the preliminary heats earned her a place in finals where she ran 9.68 for the second time of the night. She finished in fifth place.

In addition to her fifth-place finish in the Hurdles, Brown earned a sixth-place finish in the High Jump after reaching a height of 1.45 meters.

Three Falcon's ended the day with a height of 2.74 meters in Pole Vault.
Noelle Crowley (6th),
Cadee Wood (7th), and
Olivia Call (8th) each represented Messiah in the event.

In the Triple Jump Invite flight,
Elena Vargas earned a mark of 10.74 meters, securing a third-place finish. Vargas earned a sixth-place finish and a personal best time in the 200 Meter after running a time of 26.74. Joining her in the race were
Halle Jennett (8th, 26.85, PR) and
Arwyn Gruenwald (26.74).

Jennett and Gruenwald were part of a trio of Falcons to place consecutively in the 60 Meter Dash, each separated by one one-hundreth of a second.
Emma Graybill (15th, 8.32), Gruenwald (16th, 8.33), and Jennett (17th, 8.34) all gave quality performances.

Graybill added an 11th place finish in the 400 Meter, crossing the line in a time of 1:01.97. Joining her were
Kerrigan Lebo (1:03.86) and
Clara Benner (1:06.42).

Laura Kruth ran a time of 2:29.85 in the 800 Meter to finish 19th out of 54 competitors.
Julia Rickard (2:34.45, PR) and
Isabela Rodriguez (2:36.43) also competed in the 800 Meter.

In the Mile,
Katie Anthony highlighted the Falcons efforts with a time of 5:29.65, finishing 21st out of 57. Also representing Messiah in the Mile were
Amber Swaisgood (5:43.95),
Connor Coggins (5:49.00), and
Teddi Powell (5:50.94).

Kate Dickow added a third-place finish for the Falcons in the 3000 Meter. She crossed the line in a time of 10:36.80. Joining her was
Ali Schutte with a final time of 11:46.30.

Finishing the afternoon was the 4x400 Meter Relay. Messiah placed two teams in the top ten, with third and ninth-place finished. The team of Vargas, Jennett, Graybill, and Lebo ran a season best time for the Falcons, crossing in a time of 4:07.76 to earn third. The team of Miller, Rickard, Rodriquez, and Hamlen combined for a time of 4:26.45.
