LEWISBURG, Pa.- The Messiah women's track and field team traveled to Bucknell University for the Bison Open and Multi this weekend. The Falcons turned in a number of strong showings during the two-day meet.

Friday Update
Kara Brown emerged from the prelims of the 60 Meter Hurdle and improved her time in the finals later in the afternoon. She ended the day with a time of 9.56, earning a seventh-place finish. Finishing closely behind her in the preliminary round was
Claire Miller. Miller ran a time of 9.73, on the outside looking in at the finals.

In the 200 Meter,
Elena Vargas and
Halle Jennett finished three-tenths of a second apart. Vargas ended the day in a time of 27.30, while Jennett crossed the line in a time of 27.60, in 23rd and 33rd places, respectively.

A pair of Falcons also competed in the 5000 Meter to end the first day of events.
Ali Schutte and
Katie Anthony ran for Messiah. Schutte crossed the finish line in 19:35.88 to finish seventh while Anthony finished right behind her in eighth, in a final time of 19:37.92.

Leah Ferster was the lone Messiah competitor in the field events on Friday afternoon. She finished the day with a mark of 9.51 meters in the Shot Put.

Saturday Update
Halle Jennett kicked off Day Two for Messiah with a time of 8.31 in the 60 Meter. A trio of Falcons ran in the 400 Meter with
Emma Graybill leading the way. Graybill crossed the line in a time of 1:02.12 with
Cassidy Chandler (1:06.04) and
Megan Raab (1:06.97) close behind her.

In the 800 Meter,
Laura Kruth led the way for the Falcons. She finished in a time of 2:34.95.
Natalie Hamlen (2:35.18) and
Julia Rickard (2:39.00) also ran well for the Falcons in the event.

Messiah was well represented in the 3000 Meter with five Falcons taking on the race.
Kate Dickow had a strong race, finishing second overall in a field scattered with DII and DI runners. Dickow finished in a time of 10:36.45. Joining her in the race were
Connor Coggins (11:22.35),
Teddi Powell (11:23.16),
Amber Swaisgood (11:27.50),
Kirsten Howland (11:48.23) and
Sarah Bath (11:49.28).

The track events concluded with the 4x400 Meter Relay. The team of Graybill, Chandler, Raab and Rickard combined for a time of 4:23.67 to finish 10th.

The High Jump started the field competition for the Falcons on Saturday afternoon.
Kara Brown finished tied for 11th with two other competitors with a final jump of 1.50 meters.

Emma Graybill finished the Triple Jump with a distance of 9.73 meters.
Leah Ferster represented Messiah in the weight throw, finishing with a mark of 11.05 meters.
