Dickow Wins 1500, Three in the Top Four of 800 Highlight York Twilight Performance

YORK, Pa.- The Messiah Track and Field team traveled to nearby York College of Pennsylvania to compete at the York Twilight Meet. The night was highlighted by a Kate Dickow victory in the 1500 Meter. Messiah also claimed three of the top four spots in the 800 Meter.

On the Track
Kate Dickow earned the victory in the 1500 Meter after running a new personal best of 4:47.44 while qualifying for the Middle Atlantic Conference Championship (MAC). Connor Coggins also ran a new personal best and MAC qualifying time of 5:07.31 to earn eighth. Kathleen Walstrom (11th, 5:09.45) added an MAC qualifying time while Ali Schutte (12th, 5:11.62) was just a second shy from the qualifying mark.
 
Messiah claimed three of the top four spots in the 800 Meter Run on Wednesday night. Leading the trio was Katie Anthony who took 12 seconds off of her personal best, crossing the line in a time of 2:20.89 to earn second and an MAC qualifying time. Alyssa Nori finished third in a time of 2:24.45. Rounding out the trio was Kerrigan Lebo who earned fourth place after crossing the line in a new personal best and MAC qualifying time of 2:25.76. Isabela Rodriguez added a top-ten finish, placing 10th in a time of 2:32.33. Following closely behind her was Amber Fogelsanger (11th, 2:32.68). Both finished within two seconds of the qualifying time.
 
In the 200 Meter Dash, Halle Jennett crossed the line in a time of 26.46 to finish second overall but first among Division III competitors.
 
Jennett added a fifth-place finish in the 100 Meter Dash, finishing in a time of 13.25.
 
The Falcons claimed three spots in the top ten of the 100 Meter Hurdles, earning fourth, fifth, and eighth. Kara Brown (fourth, 16.29), Claire Miller (fifth, 16.80), and Clara Benner (eighth, 17.60) all ran well for Messiah. Benner's time of 17.60 is a new personal best.
 
Benner and Brown found themselves in the top ten for the 400 Meter Hurdles as well. Benner crossed the line in a time of 1:11.13 while Brown crossed in 1:13.77 to earn seventh and tenth respectively.
 
The team of Halle Jennett, Emma Graybill, Arwyn Gruenwald, and Claire Miller combined for a time of 50.37 in the 4x100 Meter Relay. That time was second overall and first among DIII teams.
 
The Falcons finished the day with five relay teams competing between the 4x800 and 4x400 Meter Relays.
 
In the 4x800, the team of Laura Kruth, Amber Fogelsanger, Amber Swaisgood, and Kathleen Walstrom combined for a time of 10:23.28 to earn the third-place finish. Connor Coggins, Sarah Bath, Kirsten Howland, and Kate Dickow combined for a time of 11:05.39 to earn fifth.
 
Finishing the action on the track was the 4x400 Meter Relay. The team of Kerrigan Lebo, Alyssa Nori, Elena Vargas, and Emma Graybill combined for a time of 4:13.17 to earn second. Finishing in a time of 4:39.01 was the team of Julia Rickard, Katie Anthony, Kiersten Burch, and Isabela Rodriguez to earn seventh. Helen Blakesee, Linnea Haney, Abi Ferry, and Allison Keller combined for a time of 5:11.48.
 
In the Field
Noelle Crowley and Hannah Witter each tied their personal best height in the Pole Vault. Crowley's final jump of 2.90 earned her a tie for sixth. Witter's jump of 2.75 tied her for eighth.
 
In the High Jump, Kara Brown tied her personal best of 1.50 while tying for sixth. Nathalie Hamlen jumped a personal best height of 1.40.
 
Olivia Call recorded a personal best distance in the Long Jump, finishing the day with a mark of 4.24.
 
In the Javelin, Brynn Gaugler earned a sixth-place finish while throwing a new personal best of 34.31 meters. Ruby Ramsey (29.94), Macey Wolfe (26.78) and Evangeline Soerens (22.73) all competed for the Falcons as well.
 
Leah Ferster finished the Shot Put with a distance of 9.37 while Brynn Gaugler finished with a mark of 8.07.
