Conference Announces Academic All-MAC Honors for Fall 2023

NEWTOWN, Pa. – This week the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) is announcing their Academic All-MAC teams for the fall of 2023. Throughout the week, the conference will announce the honorees for seven fall sports, including field hockey, women's volleyball, football, men's cross country, women's cross country, men's soccer, and women's soccer. In total, the Falcons were honored with 11 accolades this week. Men's soccer earned the most of a single team, picking up four laurels on Thursday morning.
 
The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50 percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.
 
Field Hockey
Nicole Shank – 5th Year – 3.85 fall GPA, Management - NFHCA First Team All-American ... NFHCA All-Region First TeamMAC Commonwealth Co-Defensive Player of the YearFirst Team All-MAC CommonwealthMAC Commonwealth Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 25 … Started all 20 games for the Falcons … Led the Falcons with 22 points on seven goals and eight assists … Tallied a team-high 59 shots with 26 shots on goal … Scored three game-winning goals against William Smith on Sept. 23, York in the MAC Commonwealth Championship on Nov. 4, and against Cortland in the NCAA Second Round on Nov. 11.
 
Women's Volleyball
Sarah Hart – Fr. – 3.80 fall GPA, Accounting - AVCA Region V Rookie of the YearMAC Commonwealth Rookie of the YearSecond Team All-MAC Commonwealth … Appeared in all 29 games, with 13 starts and 92 sets played … Finished second on the Falcons with 258 kills and 2.80 kills-per set … Totaled 23 blocks and 49 digs.
 
Men's Cross Country
Louka Fetter – So. – 4.00 fall GPA, Politics & Intl Relations - Competed in eight races for the Falcons … set a personal best time of 24:38.7 in the 8k at the Lock Haven University Invitational … named the Middle Atlantic Conference Men's Runner of the Week for this performance … earned a top team finish of 1st in all competitions … finished in 7th place overall with a time of 27:21.5 at the Middle Atlantic Conference XC Championships, earning All-MAC First Team honors … finished in 13th place overall with a time of 24:53.6 at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional XC Championships … earned All-Region honors and qualified to race for the Falcons at the NCAA Division III National XC Championships as the fifth of seven unattached racers … finished in 166th place overall with a time of 26:08.8 at the National Championship meet.
 
Women's Cross Country
Katie Anthony – Sr. – 3.64 fall GPA, Physics - Competed in seven races for the Falcons and served as Team Captain … ran a personal best time of 21:42.3 in the 6k at the Lock Haven University XC Invitational … named the Middle Atlantic Conference Women's Runner of the Week for her 1st place finish at the Misericordia Cougar Classic, crossing the line with a time of 24:17.3 … earned a top team finish of 1st in all competitions … earned a bronze medal for her performance at the Middle Atlantic Conference XC Championships … placed 3rd overall with a time of 24:03.8 … placed 36th overall at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional XC Championships with a time of 22:34.9.

Men's Soccer
